The Princeton Senior Resource Center is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant of $15,000 from the Princeton Area Community Foundation for its Engaged Retirement and Encore Careers programs. Engaged Retirement & Encore Careers sm programs are focused on employees in the 55-70 age cohorts, although its programs are open to everyone. The program offers a broad overview of the various aspects of lifestyle in retirement or major life change. Its programs and workshops enable participants to identify what they value in their work life and explore how to find those values in other opportunities, enter or re-enter the workforce in a job that is personally rewarding and make a difference in the world or local community with meaningful volunteer activities or an encore career. This grant will enable PSRC to continue presenting these programs to the community, and to develop new programs.
Programs coming up this fall:
Introduction to Your Retirement
This single session offers introduction to planning for retirement or a major lifestyle change. It will help you explore your options for dealing with change, managing your time, identifying your passions and making a difference through volunteering.
Engaged Retirement Workshop
In this multi-session workshop, participants learn how to successfully navigate a major life change, and how to create new goals and plans. It emphasizes ways that volunteering can give great satisfaction and fulfill many goals. Participants will explore their attitudes about change, discover their individual interests and strengths, explore options, and develop a personal plan. The workshop includes a power point presentation, handouts, participant worksheets and brief lectures, as well as time for sharing personal experience.
Job Search Strategies for Older Workers
Strategies for competing in the new work place, updating your skills, networking, dealing with ageism, job searching on the internet and avoiding job scams.
Maximizing Your Volunteer Experience: How to Find the Right Volunteer Opportunity and Make the Most of It
Learn how to connect to the many opportunities available and find the one(s) that will best meet your personal and professional goals. A joint program with VolunteerConnect, the volunteer center in the greater Mercer County area. Presenter: Adrienne Rubin, Executive Director, VolunteerConnect.

In partnership with the Princeton Public Library, The Engaged Retirement & Encore Career Center of the Princeton Senior Resource Center offers a free Speaker Series at the Library on the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm.
