UU Princeton Congregation Annual Spring Rummage Sale to Raise $20K-plus for Local Charities
Rummage sales are a dime a dozen, but the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton’s annual super-sized Spring Sale consistently raises thousands for local charities. This year, Saturday, May 12 9 am – 2 pm (rain or shine), the congregation hopes to raise $20,000 for non-profits providing emergency food, shelter, education and other services in Mercer County. UUCP is at 50 Cherry Hill Rd (junction of Route 206).
Getting a great bargain in these tough times is even better when you know it benefits your community. All profits from this sale are returned to local non-profit groups who provide needed services to our neighbors. The Spring Sale takes up the entire building and grounds, set up boutique-style with high-quality clothing, shoes & accessories, linens, baskets, furniture, lamps, antiques, books & DVDs, toys & games, computers, jewelry, art pieces, posters & paintings, kitchen appliances, dishes, trinkets, sporting goods, plants & flowers, gardening tools and general household items. In addition to the indoor array of booths, a silent auction will feature of high-end items, including antiques, fine furniture, raku art glass, jewelry, never-used electronics, and other values.
There will be live music performed by bands playing vintage rock, traditional country & blues, folk to accompany the café lunch menu, which includes grilled entrées, savory salads, soups and gourmet desserts.
First-time shoppers will be excited by the sheer volume and variety of quality items available. Virtually everything and anything can be found at this sale.
