Local Temples to "Innovate, Interface, Invigorate"

A Nov. 16 gathering at Har Sinai Temple will kick off a series of area forums featuring scholar-in-residence Dr. David Bryfman as part of the "Innovate, Interface Invigorate" program about contemporary challenges to Jewish identity and education.

          Sponsored by area synagogues and the Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks, the dialogue begins at Har Sinai, 2421 Pennington Rd. at Denow Road West, with a meeting of educators on Nov. 16 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. centered on the theme "The Challenge of Experimental Jewish Education in a Facebook World."

          Dr. David Bryfman, director of the New Center for Collaborative Leadership at the Jewish Education Project in New York, will move on from Har Sinai to Adath Israel Congregation, 1958 Lawrence Rd., Lawrenceville, from 7:45-9:30 p.m. on the same night to meet with synagogue board members and members of various groups within the Jewish community. The theme of their session will be "The Innovation Imperative: The Need for Change in the 21st Century Jewish World."

          On Nov. 17, from 9:30  to 11:30 a.m., Congregation Brother of Israel, 520 Washington Crossing Rd. in Newtown, Pa., will hold a session with Bryfman and professional leadership including clergy and staff. They will focus on "Evolution or Revolution: The Changing Faces of Jewish Identity in a Facebook World."
