Easter at Princeton United Methodist Church

EASTER WEEKEND IN PRINCETON

The dim shadows cast by candles, a labyrinth walk, and a multimedia requiem will help to prepare for Easter at Princeton United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Nassau and Vandeventer.

On Thursday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m., the Tenebrae or “Shadows” service will aim to recreate the emotional aspects of the passion story. At noon on Good Friday, April 22, worshippers will follow the winding path of a labyrinth as they meditate. On Good Friday at 7:30 p.m. Hyosang Park will incorporate scripture, art, movement, and contemplative prayer as she directs the choirs in John Rutter’s Requiem.

Easter morning begins with a 6 a.m. sunrise service on the church lawn, on the corner of Nassau and Vandeventer, followed by a continental breakfast. At the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services Rev. Jana Purkis-Brash will preach, and music will be offered by all six of the choirs.

PUMC is a diverse congregation whose members come from many surrounding communities, backgrounds and faith histories. Evening and Sunday parking is available at the Princeton University Lot behind 185 Nassau Street. For information call 609-924-2613 or visit https://www.princetonumc.org.
