Hopewell Playground Plans One Year Anniversary Celebration

*Friday evening June 11th*
we will be celebrating the
(close to) ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY
of the Playground Build.
The entire community+ is invited to come down
to the Hopewell Borough Parks
and see the completed playground spaces.
There will also (hopefully) be a commemorative *Playground Build* slideshow
and music by BOXOROX.
6-8pm.
Possible rain date Sunday June 13th.

This spring we will be finishing up the remaining work to be done in anticipation of this anniversary event. If you are interested in volunteering for any of the areas listed below, please contact racheletz@gmail.com or hwilenius@gmail.com, or Michele.Hovan@hopewellboro-nj.us

and please join us on Friday evening June 11th to CELEBRATE!

1.  *PAINT*
A volunteer day is scheduled for Friday, April 16th. Rain date Friday, April 23rd.  10am-5pm.  Volunteers should meet at the "Tot Lot".  Come in comfortable painting clothes, and bring your own refillable water bottle.  Pizza lunch will be provided for volunteers who work through lunch.  To find out more about volunteering to paint, or to get on the email list, contact Heidi hwilenius@gmail.com or just show up on Friday!

Once the painting of unfinished wood is complete (there are still bits here and there at the Gazebo Playground as well) we can get to work on the decorative elements like the little village and little train!  The goal is to be finishing up all of the paintwork in May and early June.

2.  *TILES*
All of those beautiful and creative hand-painted tiles need to be installed on the Donor Kiosk.  If you know how to do tile-work or know someone who does, please email me!  racheletz@gmail.com

3.  *MULCH*
The playgrounds did not get entirely mulched during the build or subsequent volunteer work days.  And, this is something that will need to be filled in every Spring as well.  If you know of any volunteer groups that would like to do this work, and/or make it an annual event please contact Hopewell Borough Department of Public Works 466-0168.

4.  Due to the generosity of so many in our community we were able to purchase new picnic tables, a grill, and new trash/recycling receptacles!  Look for them this spring at Gazebo Park and the Tot Lot.
(Some are in place already and some will be installed later next month).

5.  We are working on a slide show that commemorates the enormous project we all undertook!  It has been amazing to look at all of the pictures and remember what went on!  And...glad some time passed before we revisited it too:).  We hope to have the slide show ready for June 11th...and it may also play before the outdoor movies at the Mini-Park later in the summer.

Any questions, comments, or volunteers .... please call or email us!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! as ever,
and please PASS IT ON..........
