The Master Gardeners of Mercer County Host “Beneficial Insects: Good Guys in the Garden” July 19

MERCER MASTER GARDENERS TO HOST PROGRAM ON
 BENEFICIAL INSECTS

The Master Gardeners of Mercer County will host a program, “Beneficial Insects: Good Guys in the Garden” on Tuesday, July 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.  The program will be held at the Mercer Educational Gardens, 431 A Federal City Road, Pennington, adjacent to the Mercer County Equestrian Center.
There are some insects you want to keep in your garden! Beneficial insects are the natural enemies of some of your worst garden pests and they can reduce or eliminate the need for chemical pesticides.  Learn about the role of lady bugs, bees and ground beetles to name a few. Mercer County Horticulturist Barbara J. Bromley will share information on how beneficial insects help the home gardener and how to attract them to your garden.  To benefit the Master Gardeners of Mercer County educational programs, a donation of $3.00 is suggested. Rutgers Master Gardeners provide these programs for all persons.
