American Repertory Ballet and ARB’s Princeton Ballet School present Graham Lustig’s The Nutcracker with Live Orchestra and Choir
American Repertory Ballet and ARB’s Princeton Ballet School conclude their tour of Graham Lustig’s The Nutcracker next weekend with performances at the State Theatre in New Brunswick. The final weekend of performances will feature a live orchestra and choir, and will give audiences the full experience of Lustig’s critically acclaimed production. The American Repertory Ballet Orchestra, under the direction of Princeton University music faculty member Michael Pratt, has been playing the Nutcracker since 1980. This year they will be joined by the Rutgers Children’s Choir, under the direction of Rutgers University music faculty member Rhonda Hackworth. American Repertory Ballet boasts one of the longest running productions in the country and stars professional artists of American Repertory Ballet alongside students from ARB’s Princeton Ballet School. Robert Johnson of the Star Ledger says, “Choreographer Graham Lustig and his collaborator, the award-winning set designer Zack Brown, have dreamed up a version of “The Nutcracker” to which viewers may return with pleasure year after year." This year, American Repertory Ballet is also partnering with the Terra Momo Restaurant Group and Christopher’s at the Heldrich Hotel to extend the Nutcracker experience beyond the theater. Eno Terra will offer a special 5-course Nutcracker-themed meal on Saturday, December 19th or Sunday, December 20th following the performances at the State Theatre.
