PRINCETON MARRIOTT AT FORRESTAL GIVES BACK DONATES HYGIENE ITEMS TO THE HOMELESS

Beginning in January 2012, Princeton Marriott has graciously donated hygiene items, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body wash, to the Rescue Mission of Trenton. These items are packaged at the Rescue Mission and distributed to clients at the Rescue Mission’s Emergency Shelter.

The Rescue Mission of Trenton is the agency in the City of Trenton that serves the truly needy men and women who have no place to turn for shelter, food, and clothing.  The Mission provides a safe, clean, warm refuge for the homeless, the hungry, the transient, and the addicted. In 2011, the Mission’s emergency shelter provided services to over 1,000 adult men and women. Open daily from 4pm to 8am, the Emergency Shelter offers a refuge from the streets, and provides those in need with a place to stay, eat a meal, and relax.

“The Rescue Mission is especially grateful for the Marriott’s donation and we are happy to find reuse for these products as we continue our work to rebuild lives,” indicated Mary Gay Abbott Young, Chief Executive Officer of the Mission. “Hygiene kits are distributed regularly through our Emergency Shelter, and our clients are always so appreciative of these much needed items.”

Since 1916, the Rescue Mission has been the committed to rebuilding lives. The Mission provides services and counseling to encourage individuals to reach their greatest potential, and creates an environment where one can live with dignity, build self-esteem, experience love, responsibility, and hope.
