Princeton Symphony Orchestra Brings Bourbon Street to Princeton at Annual Benefit Gala

Princeton, NJ—The Princeton Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce its Benefit Gala, Bourbon Street, to be held April 13, 2013, at The Bedens Brook Club in Skillman, New Jersey. The New Orleans-style evening is headlined by Emmy Award-winning singer and actress Liz Callaway.

The PSO's annual Benefit Gala is one of Princeton's most enticing, elegant evenings, with a Broadway cabaret performance and a spirited live auction of exquisite vacation homes and luxury items. The Gala provides a full 10% of the PSO's operating budget, underwriting a flourishing professional orchestra of national rank and making possible a premiere resource for classical music performances and education in Central New Jersey.

Under the creative genius of its internationally renowned music director, Rossen Milanov, the PSO is much more than its regularly sold-out Classical Series concerts presented at its beautiful and acoustically superb home venue, Richardson Auditorium; the orchestra also connects more than 14,000 people of all ages to classical music experiences each year through PSO POPS!, free Chamber Series concerts at numerous community venues, free lectures by fascinating musicians and scholars, and the PSO BRAVO! education programs. PSO BRAVO! performances and events—more than 100 each year, with distinctive programs designed to reach students at every age level—are all presented at no charge, both in schools and throughout the community.

"This year’s Gala will evoke the cabaret-club feeling of Café Carlyle—but Princeton style!” says Gala Committee Chair Deborah Haines. “It will be a night of smoky jazz favorites, great food, and friends; it is not to be missed."

The Gala’s popular auction includes stays at extraordinary vacation homes from around the world, as well as luxury items such as New York Fashion Week tickets, jewelry, and what has become the most sought-after auction item: a private dinner prepared by PSO music director and chef extraordinaire Rossen Milanov. For information about the auction items, please visit [www.princetonsymphony.org/auction-houses]. Absentee bids are welcome and may be placed by calling the PSO office at (609) 497-0020.
