(TRENTON)—The Board of Directors of the Crisis Ministry of Mercer County welcomes the organization’s five newest members:
• Christian Martin, Executive Director of the Trenton Downtown Association
• Gary Patteson, retired investment manager and member of founding congregation Nassau Presbyterian Church
• Thomas Saltsman of Willis Insurance and a member of founding congregation Trinity Church
• Louise Senior, longtime community volunteer and member of partner congregation Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton
• Colin Watts, Senior Vice President with Weight Watchers International and member of Nassau Presbyterian Church
“We could not accomplish our mission without the efforts and leadership of our board members,” said Board Chair Fred Van Sickle, a resident of Princeton, member of the organization’s co-founding congregation Nassau Presbyterian Church, and Columbia University’s Executive Vice President for University Development and Alumni Relations. “Our new directors’ expertise, dedication, and good ideas will provide strong support to the Crisis Ministry in 2013 and in years to come.”
The Crisis Ministry of Mercer County, Inc., is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1980 by Nassau Presbyterian Church and Trinity Church. It partners with the community to achieve stability for neighbors in need, serving some 1,300 households each month through effective hunger prevention, housing stability, work training, and driver’s license restoration programs. The organization also conducts weekly bilingual nutrition classes with the Rutgers Extension Service and quarterly “Lunch and Learn” health screenings with partner Capital Health System’s Community Health Education Department.
