HOW
TO ORDER WHEN YOU EAT OUT:
Dr.
Ornish provides those who attend his retreats with a wallet card to show
to waiters and chefs. Most actually will not bother to read it and a few
cannot. It is better to know what it says and to tell your waiter
directly.
Dear
chef,
This person is following a special low-fat vegetarian diet. May
I have your help in preparing a meal? I have listed the basic
cooking guidelines on the reverse side of this card. The diet is
based on whole grains, fresh vegetables and fruits, soy
products, beans and peas and nonfat (not low fat) dairy
products. Thank you very much. |
