Planned Parenthood Able to Offer Free Family Planning Services Due to Generous Grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
Planned Parenthood Association of the Mercer Area (Planned Parenthood) is proud to offer free family planning services to uninsured women 18 years and younger at our Hamilton health center. Free services include a variety of contraceptive services, pregnancy testing, cancer screenings, and HIV testing.
“Someone you know needs Planned Parenthood,” says Allison Howe, Vice President of Health Services at Planned Parenthood Association of the Mercer Area. “Young women have the fewest resources when accessing reproductive health care. If our services were no longer available to youth at no cost it would undoubtedly have dire consequences such as unintended pregnancy, untreated infections, and delayed diagnoses.”
In both 2010 and 2011, state funding for family planning services was completely eliminated. This generous grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation enables Planned Parenthood to provide health care to young women in our community. Without this funding, our ability to provide these services – with no health insurance, to those with no health care options – is greatly at-risk.
This program is available until February 14, 2012, so visit https://www.plannedparenthood.org/mercer/free-services-women-18-younger-37027.htm / for more information and to make an appointment.
