ABOUT THE KIDS MARATHON:
The Princeton HealthCare KIDS MARATHON, presented by the Auxiliary of University Medical Center of Princeton, is designed to promote healthy habits and combat the rising trend of childhood obesity by encouraging children to complete a full 26.2 marathon over 10 weeks. Children are encouraged to tackle 2.5 miles each week, leading up to a final, 1.2-mile “Fun Run” June 6 at Princeton University. The marathon combines its pro-fitness message with a message of environmental good health and community-spirited generosity. The event encourages children to give back to their community by raising funds for the Pediatric Clinic at University Medical Center at Princeton. Children are also encouraged to complete a series of “Green Deeds” to help the environment. More information is available at the event’s web site at www.princetonkidsmarathon.org.
