Local MOMs Group Celebrate National Multiple Birth Awareness Month
Hamilton, NJ- April 12, 2010 - Did you know that multiple birth rates have doubled since the 1980s? More families are faced with issues and challenges that only pertain to raising two, three or more children at the same time. During the month of April, Central Jersey Mothers of Multiples, Inc. (CJMOM) will be celebrating the second annual National Multiple Birth Awareness Month in conjunction with The National Organization of Mothers of Twins Club Inc. (NOMOTC), TWINS tm Magazine and the Fetal Hope Foundation. For 2010, our focus will be to educate our communities on the vast resources available in our area to families
with multiples.
CJMOM will have a presence at the Robert Wood Johnson's 6th annual Baby Expo on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It is being held at the Robert Wood Johnson Center for Health and Wellness at RWJ University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ. Learn all about our organization and the National Multiple Birth Awareness Month. Visitors will learn more about the issues that these families face including what to know when expecting multiples; Twin-to-Twin-Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) and other fetal issues directly affecting multiple birth pregnancies; premature births and low birth weights; twins with special needs; the exceptional physical and bonding demands placed on parents and the separation of twins in classrooms.
