PASSING OF THE TORCH 100+ Welcome New Mercer Chamber Chairman

West Trenton, NJ – The tradition continues with a sold out crowd to welcome the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce’s incoming Chairman, Michael A. Cano, and to say “Thank you” to the outgoing Chairman, Sherise D. Ritter. Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Robert D. Prunetti opened the “Changing of the Guard” traditional ceremony by thanking Sherise D. Ritter, Principal of Mercadien, P.C., CPA’S , for her outstanding service and guidance for the past two years and welcoming Michael A. Cano, Owner of Cano Wealth Strategies, LLC as the new Chairman of the Board.

“We strongly value the leadership and dedication of our Chairmen as well as our entire Board of Directors. The Mercer Chamber is truly fortunate to have such a highly respected team of business leaders and industry pioneers serving on our board” stated Robert D. Prunetti, President and CEO of the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce.

“It was a tremendous honor to be welcomed by the business community. I look forward to working closely with Bob as we take the chamber to the next level for our members and community” stated Michael A. Cano after officially being welcomed as Chairman of the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Sherise Ritter served as Chairman, from October 1, 2009 until October 1, 2011, during which the Chamber experienced a tremendous growth period as well as a change in leadership.  “I am proud of the very active level of engagement of our 55 + member board of directors.  Our board members are the tentacles of the chamber and advocates for our membership base.  If a chamber member has a business issue or needs assistance with making a connection in the community, they should not hesitate to reach out to a board member for help.  The board brings back issues to the group and we tackle the issues from there.”

County Executive Brian Hughes and several elected officials also attended to extend their personal congratulations and enjoy the evening networking.  Last evening’s event was held at the Trenton Country Club and was sponsored by Mercadien, P.C., CPA’S and First Choice Bank.
