Dr. Cornel West Speaks at MCCC
Mercer County Community College student leaders, from left, Paul Parham, Ashley Minter and Alex Henry, are pictured with Dr. Cornel West, second from left, of Princeton University, who drew a packed house at the college's Conference Center auditorium March 24. He engaged all with his talk “Hope on a Tight Rope.” The noted scholar, civil rights activist and author shared his vision for social justice and equity and greeted many with hugs and words of encouragement. “I view teaching as a noble profession; I am especially inspired by young people. They keep me young,” said West. “We’re all in this quest for knowledge together.” West’s talk attracted approximately 450 students, members of the college community and guests.
