PDS Seniors Named Bloustein Distinguished Scholars
Princeton – Princeton Day School seniors have been named Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars based on their extraordinary academic achievements by the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority.
PDS Class of 2010 members, pictured from left, Rebecca Golden of Monroe Township, Ellis Ratner of Lawrenceville, Lizzy Yellin of Manalapan, Chris Gibson of Princeton, Victoria Maloney of Pennington, Kelsey Burns of Princeton, Dina Sharon of Kendall Park and (not pictured) Sophia Weissmann of Highland Park, were recognized as some of the highest achieving students in New Jersey high schools. Distinguished Scholars receive up to $1,000 to continue their education.
Students named as Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars must be New Jersey residents ranking within the top 10 percent of the graduating class at the end of the junior year and have exceptional scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test.
“These students are not only exceptional scholars but also leaders in our PDS community,” said Upper School Head Carlton Tucker. “We are proud to see their accomplishments recognized in this way.”
The Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, an independent agency of the State of New Jersey, administers the Garden State Scholarship program, which includes the Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar and Urban Scholar awards.
PDS is an independent, coeducational school educating students from Prekindergarten – Grade 12.
