Enjoy a delightful afternoon strolling through the streets of historic Doylestown and discovering the hidden jewels that make this charming town a quaint tourist destination and a wonderful place to live. This popular one-day self-guided tour is a highlight of the spring season in Doylestown.
The purpose of the tour is to showcase a wide variety of homes and garden styles. This allows viewers to see everyone can garden and not allow space to become an obstacle. Past tours have featured a small container deck garden, a patio garden with water feature as well as large gardens featuring art and architectural accents.
Many gardens featured on the tour are designed and maintained by the homeowners, while others are designed, planted and maintained by professionals. Bucks County Master Gardeners are on hand in each garden to answer questions pertaining to the beautiful flowers and plants featured.
Bucks Beautiful is a 501(c)(3) non-profit program of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce. Any proceeds from the tour will benefit the Bucks Beautiful Community Garden Grant & Scholarship programs. Bucks Beautiful was founded by Robert & Joyce Byers of Byers’ Choice Ltd., Chalfont, to beautify Bucks County with a wealth of lush gardens. For fourteen years Bucks Beautiful has been promoting the ideals of the Byers’ dream with distinctive gardens that may be shared for generations to come.
The cost to tour the homes is: pre-sale tickets purchased by June 11, $15 per person; purchased on Sunday, June 11, $20, children 12 and under are free.
