Strengthening Families Program FREE To Families with a Military Connection

Mercer Council's Military Family Nights program
starting July 12th at the Mercer County Family Support Organization in
Hamilton. The program will run seven consecutive weeks on Tuesday and Thursday
nights from 5:30pm - 8pm.  All sessions will be held at the Family Support
Organization located at 3535 Quakerbridge Road (IBIS Plaza) in Hamilton NJ.

Mercer Council has partnered with the MC Family Support Center to offer the
evidence-based Strengthening Families Program FREE to families with a Military
connection.  Eligible families include those that have a family member (father,
cousin, uncle, sister, etc) who is currently or formerly serving in some branch
of the US Military.

The Strengthening Families Program is a parent, youth and family skills-building
curriculum designed to prevent substance abuse and other behavior problems,
strengthen parenting skills and build family values.  Families with children
ages 6 - 11 are invited to join this interactive program.  Participating
families will practice valuable communication and family bonding skills in this
FREE program.  The program is structured into 14 two and half hour sessions that
include a family meal during the first half hour followed by one our individual
parent/child break-out sessions.  The families will then come together during
the final hour to bond as a family and participate in family activities tying in
the information from the separate sessions.  Sessions will be facilitated by
trained group leaders.  Please call us at 609-396-5874 for more information
about Mercer Council and the Strengthening Families Program if you have
questions.

Please spread the word about this exceptional program to the families you work
with.  Families with a child between the ages of 6-11 are invited to participate
and siblings/other caregivers are also invited to attend.  Families who
successfully complete the program will receive a $200 gift card.  Dinner and
babysitting services (for children under 6 years old) will be provided.
