Chesterfield, NJ – Fernbrook Farms Education Center invites you to sign-up for their upcoming family programs sure to engage everyone from children to grandparents.
The Sheep to Shawl program is the first in a two-part series on processing wool. Participants will see a sheep-shearing demonstration and learn some shearing and spinning history. Afterward, you can try your hand at cleaning and carding the wool to prepare it for spinning. The first program will be held Saturday, April 10th from 10-11am at Fernbrook Farms. Sheep to Shawl programs are geared towards ages 5 to 114 years. Admission is $10 per participant.
The Owl Prowl and Campfire will start with an investigation of owl adaptations, food sources and sounds. Then the group will take a short walk in hopes of hearing some of the species of owls, large and small, living at Fernbrook. Following the owl program, families will gather around the campfire for songs, stories and s’mores. The Owl Prowl and Campfire will begin at 7pm and end at 9pm on Saturday, April 10th. All ages are encouraged to attend. Admission is $10 per participant and children ages 4 and under are free.
