READ ACROSS AMERICA
Thursday March 1, 9:30 a.m. @ Riverside

To kick off our celebration of “Read Across America”, internationally acclaimed storyteller, Gerald Fierst will bring his program, “Stories from Around the World” to our school on Thursday, March 1, at 9:30 a.m.  Mr. Fierstís varied selection of folktales is guaranteed to entertain and enchant our students.

Friday, March 2, 10:00 a.m. @ Community Park

Sixth graders from JW will visit the school to work with students in a Read Across America project created by reading specialist Lisa McGhee.


HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS
Tuesday, March 6, 9:00 a.m. @ Johnson Park

The Harlem Gobetrotters will present an assembly that combines fancy ball-handling and a message about building good character to the pupils at Johnson Park School.


HAMLET PRODUCTION
March 2, 1:30 and 6:15 p.m. @ Johnson Park

Fifth-grade Shakespeare production.

JW SPRING MUSICAL: “GUYS & DOLLS, Jr.”
Thursday, March 8 and Friday March 9 at 7:30 p.m., Sat., March 10 @ 1:30 at John Witherspoon Middle School.

PI DAY hosted by PHS Math Department
Wednesday, 3.14 (of course), but ongoing the entire week @PHS


CHEF'S TASTINGS
Tuesday, March 6, and Tuesday, April 17 (during lunchtime) @ CP
Tuesday, March 27 and Tuesday, April 24 (during lunchtime) @ Littlebrook


These lunchroom tastings are an extension of last yearís “Garden State on Your Plate” program, a farm-to-school pilot program, funded by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

Science Investigative Projects (SIPS) Symposium
April 24, 9 a.m. ñ 12 p.m. @ D & R Greenway

With a $150,000 gift, one of the aims of the S.I.P project science investigation learning with elementary grade students while supporting elementary teachers professional development in the sciences. At this symposium, organized by JP resident naturalist Roberta Hunter, students will present their projects at the D & R Greenway.
