Princeton Girlchoir Benefit for SAVE to take place at Stuart Country Day School

Venue Changed Due to Boiler Trouble at Trinity Cathedral

PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY – Princeton Girlchoir’s annual Children Making a Difference concert, traditionally held at Trinity Cathedral Trenton, has found a temporary venue for this year.  Due to mechanical difficulties at the Cathedral, the annual tradition was in danger of being cancelled, but thanks to long-standing warm ties between the Princeton Girlchoir and the Stuart Country Day School, the school will host this year’s benefit concert in Cor Unum, its beautiful worship and performance space.

As in previous years, the concert will raise funds for a beloved local cause.  SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals, is an independent, non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area.  In lieu of tickets, Princeton Girlchoir will collect cash donations and items from SAVE’s wish list (available at www.save-animals.org/wish-list.html).

The tradition was begun three years ago by Associate Director Melissa Malvar-Keylock, as an opportunity for the choristers to use their voices as a direct means for doing good.  Past years’ concerts have benefitted the American Cancer Society, the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital, the Trenton Children’s Chorus, and the Trenton Community Music School.

The concert will take place on Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 in the afternoon, and will feature the Grace Notes and Semi-Tones, Princeton Girlchoir’s beginning and advanced-intermediate ensembles.
