IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES AT PRINCETON DAY SCHOOL Esteemed Artists Pam Muñoz Ryan, Steve Jenkins, and Carmen Agra Deedy Come to Campus, April 11-18
Beginning on Monday, April 11, Princeton Day School will host three esteemed artists on campus as part of the “Imagine the Possibilities” program, and give students and faculty the opportunity to work directly with them in a variety of situations, from small-group presentations to workshops to larger readings. The three artists are: author and poet Pam Muñoz Ryan, author and illustrator Steve Jenkins, and author and storyteller Carmen Agra Deedy.
“Imagine the Possibilities,” a program made possible through the John D. Wallace, Jr. ’78 Memorial Guest Artist Series Fund, began in 1996 to bring authors, illustrators and poets to Princeton Day School. The original idea was for a guest artist to spend the day and visit classes in all three divisions. Now, sixteen years later, the program has doubled in size and scope. Visits are carefully planned to match teachers and artists in a variety of ways. Because visits are planned well in advance, teachers are able to integrate the artists’ work into their curriculum. The result is an intimate experience of artists at work that inspires and challenges students and teachers together to “imagine the possibilities” of their own creativity.
