Prior to receiving a doctorate in school psychology from Rutgers University, she completed an internship in clinical psychology under the auspices of the NJ Department of Human Services. This provided valuable experience in working with severely emotionally challenged adolescents and with cognitively challenged adults. Dr. Wedam recently retired from her position as school psychologist at Princeton High School where she worked with students, their families and teachers for 29 years. Prior to her high school position, she spent seven years at John Witherspoon Middle School. Over the course of these many years, Dr. Wedam has evaluated and worked with hundreds of students exhibiting learning impediments ranging from attention deficit disorder to specific learning or emotional disabilities. The knowledge gained from getting to know these students has helped teachers and parents to develop plans and strategies to assist these youngsters to experience classroom success. From 2004 to 2009, Dr. Wedam served as a visiting lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Princeton University where she taught seminars in abnormal and developmental psychology. Currently, she is teaching a course in educational psychology at Rider University’s School of Education. In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Wedam is a licensed psychologist and maintains a private practice in Lawrenceville where she works with children and their families as well as adults.
