PDS Photography Exhibit Jan 25-Feb19
Princeton Day School invites the public to view “Distant Lives,” an exhibition of work by award-winning photographer and PDS faculty member Eileen Hohmuth-Lemonick on display January 25 through February 19 in the Anne Reid ’72 Art Gallery. The exhibition includes images captured while Ms. Hohmuth-Lemonick traveled in Africa chronicling the nursing shortage in Malawi. “I’ve long been focusing on people who live in developing countries, and who face challenges many in the developed world can’t easily imagine,” Ms. Hohmuth-Lemonick said; these photographs provide “a kind of window” into how healthcare systems function in poor areas of the world. Ms. Hohmuth-Lemonick has received numerous awards for her work, including a Fellowship in Photography from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts; a Village Voice Documentary Photography Grant; and a Visual Arts Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. the public is invited to an Opening Recepiton from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 in the gallery on the PDS campus. The exhibition is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday when school is open and by appointment on weekends.
