MCCC Gallery Calls for Entries for "Mercer County Artists 2015";
Jurying Set for
Jan. 24 - Calling local artists! Artists aged 18 or older who live, work, or attend school in Mercer County are invited to submit their art for consideration for the “Mercer County Artists 2015” exhibition at The Gallery at Mercer County Community College (MCCC). Artists may enter up to two original works completed since February 2013 in any media except photography. (The county hosts a separate photography exhibit). They are asked to drop off their work between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Works that are not accepted for the show should be picked up between 3:30 to 5 p.m. A full prospectus for the exhibit is available at www.mccc.edu/gallery. For a hard copy of the prospectus, artists should email their name and full mailing address to gallery@mccc.edu.


Lunchtime Piano for Adults at The New School for Music Study - Have you always wanted to play the piano? Are you ready to fulfill your longtime dream of learning to play an instrument? Are you a busy adult who would be willing to devote one lunch hour each week to a piano class? Now is the time! This is a class for beginning adult students who have not played piano in the past. It is an introductory course to teach the basics of learning the instruments. The ACTSO program is looking for talented minority high school students in Mercer County to participate in this year's Afro-Academic Cultural, Technological, Scientific Olympics. The ACTSO program includes academic and artistic categories and culminates in a state and national competition where students can win prizes and scholarships. An orientation and enrichment conference will be held on Saturday January 17th at Rowan University (transportation provided). Online registration deadline is January 24th. 1/25 - Princeton dramatic actress Diana Crane will discuss and perform selections from Noel Coward and Joyce Grenfell in a talk entitled "A Taste of Coward and a Spoonful of Grenfell." The program is in conjunction with the English Speaking Union and will be held on Sunday, January 25 at 3:00pm at the Lawrenceville School's Kirby Art Center. Ms Crane holds a certificate from The London Academy of Music and Drama and has performed in regional theaters, industrial films and numerous cabarets and one-woman shows of her own creation. She is renowned by Princeton audiences for her popular work with the PJ&B Productions and The Inn Cabaret some years ago.
