Community Groups*New Links and updated Websites: Seniors Helping Seniors AnnouncementsThe Crisis Ministry's sixth annual "Valentines for Food" Drive will be held from February 6 - 14 among a team of schools, congregations, McCaffrey's Supermarkets, and the Rotary Club of Princeton. Participants in last year's school drives donated a record 24.4 tons, or 48,800 pounds, of non-perishible foods to the Crisis Ministry's shelves. Ways to support Valentines for Food 2010 can be found at www.thecrisisministry.org The Princeton United Methodist Church (PUMC) high school choir is offering Singing Valentines as an alternative to traditional Valentine cards. Choose from Oldies to Beatles to Elvis, $5 for local and $10 for long distance. Checks are to be made out to PUMC Singing Valentines. Checks must arrive to PUMC, 7 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton 08542, no later than Friday, February 12. Please state the name and number of the recipient and the name and number of the sender and indicate whether you would like the call(s) sent between 1-3 p.m. or 4-6 p.m on Valentine's Day. This fundraiser will help send some of PUMC's high school choir members to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a choir festival. Nassau Inn to Host Community Response - A Benefit for Haiti Earthquake Relief - The benefit will showcase donations of wine, beer and food from local restaurants and distributors along with live entertainment. Many other Friends are contributing to the silent auction and raffle drawings throughout the event. The benefit will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Nassau Inn on Ten Palmer Square, Princeton, NJ. Entry will be $25 per person (cash or check at the door) with 100% of the proceeds going to the American Red Cross International Response Fund. Parking fees for all local garages on Hulfish, Chambers and Spring Streets have been donated by Palmer Square Management and the Borough of Princeton for all attendees of this event.
