MASTER GARDENERS HOST FALL HOME LAWN CARE PROGRAM APRIL 10, 2010
The Master Gardeners of Mercer County will host a program, “All About Fall Home Lawn Care” on Tuesday, August 10th from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The program will be held at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 930 Spruce Street, Lawrence, adjacent to the Trenton Farmers Market. Early September (Labor Day or thereabouts) is the best time to “labor” on your home lawn. Also, many home gardeners are interested in doing this work themselves or in knowing what their lawn care companies will be doing. Mercer County Horticulturist Barbara J. Bromley will share ideas and tips on home lawn maintenance. Learn how to prepare lawns for reseeding, renovation or sodding and how to select the correct grass seed for your yard. Pick up a soil test mailer to know if fertilizer or lime is really needed. To benefit the Master Gardeners of Mercer County educational programs, a donation of $3.00 is suggested.
