| The YWCA
of Trenton is committed to the empowerment of women and girls and
the elimination of racism. Its programs, support its dual mission and
include education, leadership training, affordable housing, support
services, health promotion, recreation, and public advocacy.
The YWCA serves more than five thousand residents a year of Trenton and the surrounding Mercer County community. On a daily basis, the staffs of the YWCA of Trenton actively empower members of the community, as they cope with educational, health, social, economic and cultural barriers which impair their ability to lead productive, fulfilling lives. In a community facing a 45% poverty rate, violent crime, widespread substance abuse, illiteracy and domestic violence, the YWCA works to meet the ever-increasing demand for quality services and programs for the people of Trenton and Mercer County. The YWCA continues to identify and address the immediate and long-term needs of this community, providing compassionate, nurturing, culturally sensitive programs, as well as resources and referral services to every segment of the population.
