The Princeton Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society
Who we are

The American Rhododendron Society has world wide membership.  There are a number of local chapters, but most are in the USA and Canada.  The Princeton Chapter is a group of members of the ARS who meet and sponsor events in central New Jersey.     The essential requirement for membership is an interest in rhododendrons.  The primary reason for joining is to locate, obtain, and learn about rhododendrons.  At our meetings we have speakers who show us how to propagate and grow plants; where to find hybrids and species;  and  take us on photo tours of beautiful gardens.  Our membership ranges from beginning gardeners to professional nurserymen and landscapers, and includes a number of avid hybridizers and collectors.

The experts are always ready to help the beginner and the new member will quickly learn that, while the most desirable plants are seldom available commercially, the collectors are a great source of cuttings.  Also, the hybridizers in the group are a wonderful source of newly developed hybrids.
