Penns Neck Citizens for Responsible Development
We are a citizens
group devoted to the responsible development of the Penns Neck area—the
historic neighborhood located between Princeton and West Windsor in the
Princeton Junction area.
Currently our group is fighting the Sarnoff
Corporation’s plan to develop a massive research and office park on their
current site, which stretches from Route 1 back to the train, and from
Fisher Place to the Millstone River. This development would:
-
Add 2.75 million square feet to the
current total for the campus.
-
Add 10,000 vehicles per day to the already
gridlocked surrounding roads.
-
Threaten the environment of the area, including
the Stonybrook-Millstone watershed and the local wetlands.
-
Diminish the playing fields currently used
by the local soccer leagues and the Special Olympics to a couple of fields
next to the proposed Millstone Bypass.
-
Impact the quality of life for the established
neighborhoods near the campus.
