MERCER COUNTY GERIATRIC CENTER

Indirect Volunteers Direct Volunteers

The Center is one of the most modern long-term care facilities in Central New Jersey. Owned and operated by Mercer County, the 240-bed facility was opened in 1986, to serve the County's elderly and handicapped residents.

Volunteers play an important part in helping the Center provide the best possible care for its residents in a warm, home-like atmosphere. Some work directly with the residents and others provide support services to the staff.

HOW TO APPLY:

Call (609) 588-5845 to arrange for a tour and interview with the Coordinator of Volunteers.

TRAINING:

All new volunteers receive a full orientation to the facility, and specific training for their chosen assignments.

In addition, in-service training sessions and workshops are offered from time to time.
