APRIL 2006 ADDITIONS

  • Illuminated Middle Ages database presents several hundred
    recently digitized illuminated texts from French national library

  • Singular Impressions: Monotype in America Presents various monotype artists and shows video segments - step by step process. From Smithsonian American Art Museum. (on Printmaking Links Page)

  • Artist Trading Cards - ATCs in the Classroom. Site by Dr. Craig Roland. In collaboration with Kris Fontes and Mary Elizabeth Meier, Union City High School, Pennsylvania.  Find a classroom to swap - check the message board. (on Art Games and Lesson Plans)

  • Photographs From the African Diaspora from Museum of the African Diaspora. A mosaic version of a photograph by Chester Higgins Jr., composed of 2,000 images contributed by people from all over the world, is the centerpiece of the Web site.   • The Life and Times of Frida Kahlo - PBS site includes a biography, photographs of the artist, a timeline, selections of her work with accompanying information, a list of related resources, and educational guides. (located on  Art of Mexico)

  • Portrait Detectives from East Liverpool Museums - The Walker (alternate ULR). Learn how to look for clues as to who the person is, how they lived and more. More interactive exhibits using the collections of Liverpool Museums. (located on Just for Kids)

  • National Association of Comics Art Educators site includes articles, exercises, handouts, and tutorials on creating and teaching comics in the classroom. (located on Art Games and Lessons)

  • Mandala Maker From Girls Go Tech - Girl Scouts. Read about the Mandala then create your own mandala. To save your mandala to file, click Print Screen - then paste into new file in your photo editing software. Crop the image down to five inch square.
