Procedures:
1.
View and discuss videos.
How did these artists get ideas?
What were their influences?
How are their beliefs represented in their art

Critique works of Native American art
3.
Select some NW Coast image that are meaningful to
you---or design your own animal totem using the criteria of the
NW Coast tribes (eye shape—U shape—Ovoid etc), Make several
sketches
4.
Select best drawing for print --
5.
Transfer drawing to linoleum using carbon paper (tape
drawing to plate with two small pieces of masking tape
6.
Cut out all lines of drawing -- cut any small shapes you
want to be white (or color of the paper)
7.
Print using a light color of ink -- print an edition of
four (you may print more than 4)
8.
Cut more away form plate - ink a darker color -- print
over first color prints. Minimum of two-color reduction. (Take
break from printing for ceramics)
9.
USE this cut for the Ceramic
Pot-latch box
10.
Finish prints while boxes are drying. Cut more away form
plate -- ink a darker color -- print over second
color. Register colors
