Goal: To transform a discarded book into a creative art work of art that encompasses a theme and utilizes a variety of media and techniques.

Glue individual pages together into groups (size is determined by the number of pages in the individual book).  If the book is thick enough, a section can be glued to the back cover to create a place to cut a niche.  Other sections may be done this way also.

 

On cover- Hand traced with pattern added

 

On cover- Transferred letters of name

 

A title page that includes a variation of the theme (My World) and images to suggest topics to be found in the book

 

A page depicting “Family”

 

All pages must depict a specific topic related to the title of the book

 

A page depicting a personal goal

 

A page depicting a “hero”

 

A page depicting a memory

 

Two open facing pages including the concepts of positive/negative space and contrast

 

A page that includes contour line drawings

 

A page that includes repetition (pattern)

 

A page that is predominately text

 

A page that includes use of an envelope

 

Use of specific color harmony (triad/monochromatic/complementary/analogous)

 

Use of at least 10 items from the media list (mark them off)

 

Use of at least 8 items from the techniques list (mark them off)
