Analyze the elements that make up the whole:

  1. What types of metal do you see?
  2. Is the metal smooth or textured?
  3. Describe where you see changes in the surface of the metal. How is that achieved?
  4. What recognizable shapes do you see?
  5. How is the sculpture put together?
  6. What is different about the arms from the rest of the sculpture?
  7. Is something missing from this figurative work?

Analyze and interpret the artist’s intent:

  1. What does this look like to you?
  2. What parts resemble something real?
  3. Describe the types of shapes used
  4. What do you think the artist wanted this piece to represent ?
