Title: Matisse Face Masterpiece
Ojectives:
- Students will study Matisse paintings and style
- Students will paint faces using bright Matisse colors
Materials:
Look at Purple Robe and Woman with Hat by Matisse. See how he used bold strokes of color in her face. Look what Matisse did with wide strokes of paint in the Purple Robe painting. We are going to use the same colors when painting our faces.
Pair up and paint your partner's face with face paints. Use Matisse colors. Wear an art shirt. They may choose to wash the paint off at the end of the period or wear it the rest of the
day (make arrangements with the principal to OK wearing the paint).
