Guestbook entries from the early days of IAD!
Fresh Air
I really enjoyed your site. It was such a breath of fresh air from reading three days worth of the
ArtsEdNet digest. I am impressed with your time and ability to set up
such a great site! I am an elementary art teacher in Northeast Georgia.
I teach at two schools (approximately 1200 students) and have 30 minute
art classes with my students once a week. I really enjoy my job and
find amiable support from the faculty. I am also working on my masters
in art education and I am halfway there:YEAH! Wish me luck!

like cartoons, especially ones with an editorial comment.....How
do you draw the cartoons? I'm an art teacher K-6 at Fort
Leavenworth,Ks. (over 20 years,and I'm still semi-sane). I have
loads of art lessons from (and clothes with various stains from
all the major art medias).... Can we share? (not clothes)

A Few Chuckles
I think your site is great! I am a middle school art teacher
and I had more than a few chuckles while looking through the
various pages. I am hoping to set up a home page of my own
my students to visit. I would definately list your site as a
recommendation to them. One suggestion would be to include
photos with the lesson plans. Thanks! By the way what is a URL?

Cool Projects and Ideas
I am impressed with this site. I teach art 8-12, fine arts as
well as computer graphic design, and cartooning. There are many
sites with valuable ideas and resources but i find this one the
best in regard to working with "cool" projects and ideas. Please
E-mail any other sites or resources that can be helpful. Thank
you. Good luck with this site. It's great! Also, if you know
of any really well designed web pages from other high schools
please let me know. Thanks.

So Fun!
I love your site, it's so much fun! I play percussion in my
school band. I play snare, belles, bass drum, and quantons.
I can type an average of 97 words per minute on my computer.
I like animals. Even though I'm only 11, I'm a member of the
Humaine Society. I have never gotten lower than an A- on my
report card. I'm on the softball All-stars, first string on
basketball, all school champ on shot-put, and first string on
volleyball.

Home Schooling Fun
I like this site A LOT! As a home
schooling mom with a 6th. & 8th. grader I see this as a great
resource to help inhance our curriculum. Also as the local support
group leader for our home school group I do a great deal of event
planning for group activities. Your site should prove valuable as a
source of activity ideas that are both educational & fun! Thanks!!!

Great Resource
I'm an Instructional Assistant in an elementary school.
I have little formal art training, but I find myself teaching art
lessons for many of the classes in which I work. I work from
many different sources, Kesler's Draw Squad, Drawing
on the Right Side of the Brain, Monart, anything that works. We
have had a great deal of sucess convincing children that they
can draw! It's a day to day learning experience and your web
site is a great resource! Thank You.

Let's Exchange Lessons! Greetings. I'm a high school art teacher at Fruitport High
School in Fruitport, Michigan. I'v been teaching art for the
past eighteen years and currently head our two person depart-
ment here at the high school. Our school has about 1,000
students this year, with many of them electing to take art at
some point in their high school experience. We offer a full
range of art courses from basic art to crafts to photography.
I am a photographer and graduated from Western Michigan Univer-
sity with a BFA in 1978. I look forward to exchanging lessons
getting new ideas for my students from your excellent web site!

Love that Painter 4.0!
I'm a third grade teacher who just recently got the four third
grade classes at Clements High School on the web. We're very small
right now, but that's because I do the site at home. You see, our
school isn't wired for the net. Maybe by October. I love children's
art. I take their work and trace it and color with a wacom tablet and
Painter 4.0. I try to stay as faithful to the original as possible,
though I do like to enhance the piece with some of Painter's effects. I
hope you'll visit us soon and write us if you can. I think your site is
one of the best. I'm going to show our art teacher, Mrs. Sacszowa
(oops! spelling), who is the best art teacher I've ever met. Gotta go
now. Gonna make a link to you. Go to http://www.companet.net/~chs/. (Now at http://www.clementshigh.org/)

French Surf
Grade 5 teacher in a french school. I am
enjoying surfing the internet for classroom ideas. Obviously I suggest
material in french however, the stuff on your site is quite fun!
I am hoping to set up my own web page, hope I can be as original as you
have. Who exactly is responsible for this site?

This is One Art Advocate! I made a shortcut to this site, so I could return. I am
always looking for ideas for classes.
I am Vice President of the Art Institute & Gallery of
Salisbury, Maryland, and President/Founder of MESA - Mid
Eastern Shore Artists Foundation, Inc. I am Student Education
Chair for AI&G, which means I hire teachers for the children's
classes ages 4 - 16. I also act as docent for class tours to
the Institute, and to my studio, PARALLELS. I schedule tours
with daycares, public schools and non profit organizations.

Student Teacher
This is a terrific site. I worked at the Art Institute of
Chicago over the summer and they wanted me to find information
for art teachers over the internet. This was the best site I
found. I also found plenty of ideas for me, being an
elementary student teacher.

Love Those Peeves
I think that this is a great site. I especially liked your pet peeves pages.
it shows kids and adults alike to appreciate what you have and to
accept yourself and others as they are. there is nothing that can't be
overcome with a little creativity. I also like your lessons pages but
we need some more links for downloads to PC's. Keep up the great
efforts. they are appreciated.

Who Are You?
Wow! What a great site! I only wish that you told us a little
about yourself somewhere. I'm really inspired. I spent a
couple of weeks at summer institute to learn about the internet
and a little about making web pages. I have a long way to go
before I will be able to do anything close to this. I'm going to
work on our school's art dept. web page this year.

Another Cart Pusher
Great work on this web page. I have been teaching art at the elementary level for 27 years this year , at
Cahokia Dist #187. There are no art rooms in each of the buildings that
I teach in which is four. I have to push sometimes at least 2 carts,
which is a challenge. Maybe you could give me some ideas to make it a
little easier. Thank-you
