Hopewell Valley Chorus
Board of Directors
2009-10

Vice President/Membership
Chris Piatek
Christine Piatek

Chris joined the chorus in January 1996 after attending the December 1995 holiday concert.  For her, life without music or song would be a subsistence-level existence.  There is an indescribable quality about group choral singing and the folk doing the singing.  The energy and camaraderie are gifts, and HVC is family!  When not working in the law, Chris takes care of her home, family and friends, sings in her church choir, plays piano, reads novels, facilitates a memoir-writing group and does volunteer work at her church.

PRESIDENT
Marilyn Liccardiello
Marilyn Licciardello

Marilyn Licciardello joined the Hopewell Valley Chorus in January 2006. She is retired from her career as a teacher of gifted/talented students. She also sings in her church choir and particularly enjoys performing in musicals presented by local theater groups. If she isn't singing, Marilyn likes gardening, tennis, pottery and trying to get her photo albums organized.

Treasurer
Christina_Rowntree
Christina Rowntree

Christina became a member of the HVC in 2003. She has sung in many choral groups and enjoys most things musical. She is a CPA, currently at home, being a mother to her family. She is an avid reader and walker and assumes that someday she will become a birder!

Finance Director
Sandy Stein
Sandy Stein

Sandy has enjoyed singing for as long as she can remember. She participated in elementary, junior high, and high school choruses. After a break during college, she re-entered the world of choral singing, joining the St. Ann's Adult Choir and the Trenton Diocesan Choir. In 2004, Sandy became a member of the tenor section of the HVC. When not at rehearsal, she keeps busy baking, canning, reading and walking her two golden retrievers.

Secretary
Lynn Ebeling
Lynn Ebeling

Lynn joined HVC in 1999. Retired from a career as an elementary art teacher, she works in her studio making pottery and weaving baskets, which she sells at craft shows "I like to remember what former director, Patrick Freer, said about chorus membership: any time you join a group or an organization, you enrich your life by adding another family to your life. That's how I like to think of HVC...another family in my life." Lynn and her husband raise sheep, goats and chickens on their farm in Hopewell Twp. She enjoys riding her horse and her bike, gardening and preserving the garden harvest, cooking and hiking with her dogs.

Concertmaster
Marcia Snowden
Marcia Snowden

Marcia's lifelong love of music ranges from bluegrass to opera. She says that, though her enthusiasm far outstrips her abilities, she has greatly enjoyed the opportunity to sing with the Hopewell Valley Chorus over the past three years. Now retired, after a 41-year administrative career at Princeton University, she has more time for tennis, gardening, reading, hiking and various cultural interests.

Librarian
Carole Woodford
Carole Woodford

Carole Woodford has been singing with vocal groups most of her adult life. Prior to joining the Hopewell Valley Chorus in 1983, she was part of a madrigal group and has been active with her church choir for more than 20 years. Carole has served as HVC librarian since 2000.

Music Consultant
John Kling
John Kling

A choir singer since first grade, John joined the HVC in 1984 and has served as music consultant and scholarship chair since 1997. He also sings with Trenton's Capital Singers and spent 15 summers performing at the Open Air Theatre at Washington Crossing. He has studied at Westminster Choir College, is music director at Titusville Methodist Church, and serves on the upper school music faculty at Villa Victoria, directing several vocal groups and an instrumental ensemble.

Public Relations
Kate O'Neill
Kate O'Neill

At age 12, Kate was cast as a sailor in "HMS Pinafore." At 13, she played the father in "Hansel and Gretel." Is it any surprise that her request to sing tenor was granted during her first HVC season (1999)? Kate coordinates our Spring into Song concert and leads the HVC brigade that volunteers with the Trenton Children's Chorus. A former French teacher, she is an independent writer, restaurant reviewer and Standard Poodle fanatic.
