On Monday, September 8, The Hopewell Valley Chorus will begin rehearsals for “Heaven and Earth,” its holiday concert, featuring Sunrise Mass by Ola Gjeilo. The chorus invites interested singers to join in on open rehearsals September 8 and 15. All voice parts are welcome! The four-movement Gjeilo Latin mass is scored for choir and string orchestra; it was commissioned in 2007 and premiered in 2008. Carols about heaven and earth make up the second half, reflecting themes of the mass.

Aside from school holidays, the chorus rehearses at Hopewell Valley Central High School, 259 Pennington-Titusville Road, Pennington, Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. For information, call 609-737-3177 or email hopewellchorus@aol.com.

HVC was recently featured on Hunterdon Chamber Radio's internet radio show, "Good Morning Hunterdon." We had a fantastic time talking about the history of the chorus, our upcoming spring concert and how music lovers can get involved and start singing. Missed the broadcast? Listen here!
