About the
Hopewell Valley Chorus

We are an amateur, unauditioned adult community chorus located in Pennington, New Jersey. We perform two or three times a year locally, and participate in a variety of community outreach activities. We have recently performed music from a variety of genres including traditional classical, jazz, blues, gospel and new compositions based on American poetry.

Join us on May 3 at 4 p.m. for “Animal Crackers,” featuring a series of lighthearted songs about animals—settings by Eric Whitacre of lighthearted poetry by Ogden Nash. All of the music in the concert is about animals and includes “Seal Lullaby,” “The Animals Are Coming,” “The Lobster Quadrille” (from Alice in Wonderland) and “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” In addition, Maura Tuffy, winner of the 2015 Hopewell Valley Chorus Scholarship, will perform two pieces during the concert at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Washington Crossing, 268 Washington Crossing-Pennington Rd., Titusville. Animal Allies, of Pennington, and Tabby’s Place, of Ringoes, will be on hand to tell about their rescue and adoption organizations.
