Annual Halloween Chorus FestivitiesOnce again, the members of the Hopewell Valley Chorus had a great time dressing to the nines for our annual costume party rehearsal just after Halloween! Clever chorus members came up with ghoulish delights and some channeled our "south of the border" theme for the concert. Left, Valerie Nelson displays her best mariachi style. "Cabernet and Cabaret"Our fundraiser "Cabernet and Cabaret" at the Hopewell Valley Vineyards on Saturday, June 13 was a great success and a lot of fun. With your help, we successfully launched our sparkling, event-filled 50th anniversary year. Cabaret and Cabernet netted $2748 toward the composition of a piece of music commissioned in honor of our golden anniversary, which will be presented at our anniversary concert, May 23, 2010. Thanks to all who helped produce a great event, including the terrific performers (dancing and singing!), those individuals and businesses who contributed items for gift baskets, and everyone who helped with setup and food. Special thanks to accompanist Drew and to Marjorie for acting as emcee! Photos |

National Anthem Performance, Waterfront Stadium, TrentonA hearty group came out to sing the national anthem at the Thunder game on Thursday, June 18. We got a special welcome from Boomer, enjoyed some gourmet dining followed by fine, smuggled-in butter cookie notes, and watched six rainless, well-fielded but scoreless innings. Those who stayed beyond the "stretch " saw a great 7th inning, in which the Thunder recovered from its recent slump to squash the Defenders 2-0. Photos |
