and Pretend

Background
:

Young
children normally have little idea of what is real and what
is pretend.
To add to the confusion is TV, on which both real
(news) and pretend (Law and Order for instance) are
presented.
One of the adult’s jobs is to help the child learn
to differentiate.
-
Pretend
play is a way in which young children act out and understand
the world around them, as well as their own emotions.
There is reason to believe that high-quality pretend
play aids in development of academic skills.

Objective: Young
student will develop understanding of what is real and what is
pretend.

Materials
Needed: One
real object and one pretend object, such as a real tomato and a
tomato made of plastic or wax; a real leaf and one that is cut
out of paper.
|
Process:

Watch
TV together. Discuss what is real and what is pretend.

Read
a book together. Discuss what is real and what is pretend.
-
Gather
items (such as tomato or leaf above) are real and pretend
and discuss which is real/pretend.
-
Provide
young student with a set of real/pretend items to bring to
school to demonstrate to class/friends.

Trasfondo:

El
niño normalmente tiene una pequeña idea de lo que es real
y que es pretender. Añadir la confusion de la TV, de cual
es lo real (Noticias) y cual es pretender (Ley y Orden) son
presentadas. El trabajo de un adulto es ayudar al niño a
reconocer la diferencia.
-
El
pretender jugando es una vía en que los niños entiende el
mundo alrededor de ellos, como también sus emocines. Hay
rezones para creer que la alta calidad en los juegos de “pretender”
desarrolla las destrezas academicas.

Materiales
que necesita:
Un
objeto real y otro que pretende ser, ejemplo: un tomate real y
uno de plástico, una hoja real y una de papel.

Proceso:

Mirar
TV juntos, decirle que es real y cual pretende serlo.

Leer
un libro juntos y decir que es real y que es pretender.
-
Reunir
todos los objetos y hablar acerca de cual es real y cual es
el que pretende.

Déle
a su niño los objetos que reunieron para que los traiga a
la escuela y le cuente a la clase de la diferencia.
