Transportation: Box Boat
|
Background: Cardboard
boxes are trashed, adding to our landfill. Many ideas exist
for re-using the boxes. Since the young students are studying
various forms of transportation for these two weeks, we are
suggesting that you make together a pretend car, bus, airplane,
train, or other using cardboard boxes. We are offering a
suggestion for a “Row boat” we found at www.daniellesplace.com.

Objective: Family
members and young student will enjoy time together making and
playing with a pretend vehicle.

Materials
Needed:
2
cardboard boxes the same size that are big enough for a couple
of children to sit in, strapping tape, blue and brown paint,
two wrapping paper tubes (optional), extra cardboard
(optional) |

Process:
-
Form one
box into a triangle shape to form the bow of the boat then
glue or tape the boxes together to form the boat. Paint
the boat brown and then paint water on the outside of the
boat.

If you
want to make some oars: use a wrapping paper tube for each
oar and cut out the paddle part from the extra cardboard
and then glue together.

Make
additional types of vehicles using boxes.

Visit a
park with a lake. Discuss what you see, including,
hopefully, some boats.

including walking, biking, and horseback riding.

Tell the truth. We honestly would appreciate your suggestions
for activities that will promote this character trait.

Historía: Las
cajas de carton son tiadas a la basura, agregadas a nuestros
terrenos. Existen muchas ideas para re-usar estas cajas. Ya
que los jovenes estudiantes estudiaran varios formas de
transporte esta dos semanas, nosostros les sugerimos que hagan
juntos una simulacion de un carro, bus, avión, tren u otro uso
para las cajas de carton.. Nosotros les sugerimos un “Bote de
Remos” que encontramos en la direccion de internet
www.danielleplace.com. |

Objetivo:
Los
miembros de las familias y sus jovenes estudiantes disfrutaran
del tiempo juntos.
Haciendou jugando con la similitud de un vehiculo. |

Materiales
que necesita:
2 cajas de carton del mismo tamaño suficientemente grande en
las cuales dos niños puedan sentarse dentro de ellas, Cinta
pegante, pintura azul and cafe, dos tubos de papel (optional),
carton extra (optional). |

Proceso:
-
Forme una caja
en la figura de triangulo para formar el bote y peguelo o
coloquele cinta. Pinte el
bote de color cafey agua al rededor del bote afuera.
-
Si a
usted le gustaria hacer car envuelnva tubos para cad
cilindro y recorte la parte del pedal del mismo carton
entonces peguelos juntos.
