Background: Developing
Fine Motor control is an essential skill if young students are
to learn to print and undertake many other skills that follow.
They are eager to learn and grow. Lacing cards are one
fun way to achieve this objective.

Objective: Young
students and family members shall enjoy together an activity
that helps develop the child’s fine motor control.
|
|
Materials
Needed: Cardboard,
stryrofoam, or other similar material. Hole punch or
other tool for making holes. Scissors. Colored
laces, string , or yarn.
|
|
Process: Family
member or young student cuts a shape out of the material.
Holes are made in the material. If using string or yarn,
it can be threaded in a large yarn needle; or it can be dipped
in glue to harden the tip.

|
Skills/Learning Styles/Intelligences:
Fine
motor control, visual discrimination, interpersonal.
|
|
Extended Learning: Make
a variety of the lacing cards. Discuss the shapes.
Which are round? Which have straight sides? Offer papers
with round lines, some with straight lines for the young
student to use for practice cutting with safety scissors.

|
Character Development: Does
your child have responsibilities at home? If so,
what are they? Sorting laundry offers
opportunities for young student to develop visual
discrimination, and they enjoy helping!

Historía: Desarrollar
control motriz fino
es una destreza esencial si los jovenes estudiantes
estan por aprender a escribir y toma muchas otras destrezas
siguientes. Ellos estan ansiosos de aprender y crecer.
Ensartar figuras es una forma divertida de alcanzar
esta objetivo.

Objetivo:
Los
jovenes estudiantes y sus familiasdeben disfrutar juntos de
una acyividad que ayuden al niño a desarrollar control motriz
fino.
|
|
Materiales
que necesita:
Carton,
icopor,o cualquier otro material similar. Perforadora u
otra herramienta con que se pueda abrir
hoyos. Tijeras. Cordones de colores o lana.
|
|
Proceso: Los
miembros de las familias o los jovenes estudiantes corten una
figura del material. Los huecos seran hechos en el material.
Si usan cordones o lana, podrian ser ensartados en una aguja
grande; o intriducir la lana en goma para que se endurezca.

|
Destrezas/estilos
de aprendizaje/ inteligencias: Control
motriz fino, discriminacion visual, interpersonal.
|
|
Continuo
aprendizaje: Hacer
una variedad de tarjetas ensartadas. Discutir acerca de las
figuras. Cuales son redondas? Cuales tienen lados rectos?
Ofrecerles papel con lineas curvas, algunos con lineas rectas
para que los jovenes estudiantes lo usen para practicar
cortando con tijeras seguras.

Desarrollo
de Caracter: Sus
niños tienen responsabilidades en casa? Si es asi,
cuales son ellas? Ofrescales
clasificar la ropa para lavar a los jovenes estudiantes
para que ellos
desarrollen discriminacion visual, ademas disfruten
ayudando!
