Building Together:
For this Earth Day event, we ask that every
student/family member and invite and each staff
member, volunteer and board member decorate a box.
We will now call it a building block. On
Earth Day, we will then one by one add our
transformed box to a structure that we will build
with these blocks.
First Presbyterian has kindly given us
permission to build in Fellowship Hall.
We hope for 100% participation by the young
students, as each one is very important.

Our
objectives: We will
illustrate that we are each an important part of
the whole; We depend on each other we can do things together that we cannot do alone; we
are alike but still unique. and, of
course, we
can make really neat things out of recycled
materials

Instructions:
Cover a box by painting, gluing on cutouts from
magazines and flyers, or cover with leftover
wallpaper or adhesive paper. Cracker and
cookie boxes are a good size for blocks, but for
this project, all sizes and shapes are welcome.

Extended: Discuss with young student how each
part of the body is important for its function;
other possibilities for part/whole discussion
include cars, watches, flowers, trees, and
jigsaw puzzles.

More: Using any recycled
material desired, make another creation (possibly
a musical instrument that we can use for our Earth
Day March.

Construir
Juntos:
Para
el evento del Día de la Tierra, queremos
invitar a cada miembro de nuestros estudiantes/familias,
miembros de nuestros Profesores y voluntarios a
decorar cajas. Nosotros lo llamaremos
construyendo bloques. El Día de la Tierra,
nosotros colocaremos uno a uno nuestras cajas
transformadas a una estructura que construiremos
con estos bloques. La Iglesia nos permitió construir en el Hall ó pasillo.
Nosotros esperamos la participación del
100% de nuestros estudiantes, es muy importante!

Nuestros
Objetivos:
Nosotros queremos mostrar que cada uno
somos parte de un todo; nosotros dependemos de
otros para realizar cosas juntos, que no podemos
hacer solos; nosotros somos semejantes pero aún
únicos y por supuesto nosotros podemos realizar
ingeniosas cosas con materiales resciclables.

Instrucciones: Cubrir
una caja con diferentes avisos de magazines o
revistas, la podemos cubrir con papel adhesivo.
Las cajas de galletas
son un buen tamaño para nuestros bloques, pero todos los tamaños son
bienvenidos.
