Paper Plate Tambourine

   

Background:   Life is rhythmic; our bodies respond to rhythm.  Young students learn through the use of music.  We don’t need fancy instruments.  We can make our own!

Objective:  Families and young students will enjoy making a musical instrument together, and making music together.

Materials Needed: 2 paper plates, art materials such as crayons, objects such as stones, bottle caps or poker chips that are too large to cause choking hazard, glue and tape.

Process:  Decorate the paper plates as desired.  Place together with “up” sides facing.  Start taping and/or gluing togeher, leaving a space open.  Feed the objects through the space.  Finish gluing/taping together.  Shake it!

Skills/Learning Styles/Intelligences:  Visual/Spatial, Interpersonal, large and fine motor control, musical/rhythmic.

Extended Learning:   For logical/mathematical, count the number of objects you feed into the instrument; also, establish and follow a rhythm. Make other instruments, such as kazoo, soda bottle shaker, oatmeal box drum. Make enough instruments for each family member, and form a band, marching around the house!

Character Development: Young students are discussing Respect:  Don’t be a bully or pick on others.  Your child’s teacher will be glad for any suggestions you have for activities to teach this character issue.

Hacedores de Musica – Tamborin – platos de papel

         

Historía:  La vida es ritmica. Nuestros cuerpos responden a el ritmo. Los jovenes estudiantes aprenden atravez del uso de la musica. Nosotros no necesitamos de instrumentos sofisticados. Podemos elaborarlos nosotros mismos!

Objetivo:   Las familias y los jovenes estudiantes disfrutaran el hacer instrumentos musicales juntos, y hacer musica juntos.

Materiales que necesita:  2 platos de papel, materiales para arte tales como: crayolas, objetos como piedras, tapas de botellas o fichas de poker que sean grandes para evitar un atragantamiento, pega y cinta pegante.

Proceso:  Decore el plato de papel como usted lo decida. Pongalos juntos con las caras hacia “arriba”  Coloqueles cinta o peguelos juntos, deje un espacio abierto.  Introduzca los objetos atravez del espacio. Termine dd colocarles cinta o pegarlo.  Sacudalo!

Destrezas/estilos de aprendizaje/ inteligencias:  Visual/Espacio, Interpersonal, control motriz fino y grueso, musica/ritmo.

Continuo aprendizaje: Para logica/matematica, cuente el numero de objetos que introduciste en el instrumento; ademas, establece y sigue un ritmo. Haz otros instrumentos, tales como una botella de refresco como agitador, tambor con una caja de avena. Haga suficientees instrumentos para cada miembro de la familia, y forme una banda, marchen alrededor de la casa!
