Talk to the Puppet:

Background: Children often find it easier to talk to a puppet than to another human being. For this reason, puppets are useful for encouraging children to verbalize and to express feelings. When the child makes his very own puppet, the process is even easier.

Activity :   Together, you can make paper lunch bags’ puppet.

Materials needed:   1 Lunch Bag, Markers, Crayons or Paint, Construction Paper, Yarn (for hair), Scissors, Glue.

Instructions:   Lay the lunch bag flat with folded bottom facing up. The flap made by the bottom fold will be the mouth. Together you can decide to make it be anything you like. It can be a boy, a girl, a teacher, a dog, a cat, a bear, an elephant …. Whatever. This will give you an excellent opportunity to name the eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and their function. You may want to cut out a tongue and/or teeth and glue them inside the flap.

Vocabulary words:  Puppet, Feelings (sadness, fear, anger, happiness, for starters), Face, Eyes, Ears, Nose, Mouth, Tongue, Talking, Senses (Sight, Smell, Taste, Hearing, Touch).

Skills/Learning Styles/Intelligences:   Verbal language development, Fine Motor Skills, Social/emotional intelligence, Emotions.

Hablar a Los Titeres

História:  Los niños a menudo encuentran mas fácil hablar a los títeres que a un ser humano. Por esta razón, las marionetas o títeres son muy usadas en la ayuda a los niños para verbalizar y expresar sus sentiemientos. Cuando los niños hacen su propio títere, el proceso es mas fácil.

Actividad:  Juntos pueden realizar un títere con una bolsa de papel.

Materiales que necesitarán:   Bolsa de papel, marcadores, crayones o pintura, papel de construcción (Papel de colores grueso), lana (para el cabello), Tijeras, pegante.

Instrucciones:   Coloque la bolsa de papel con el fondo plegado o doblado, la tapa hecha por el pliegue de fondo será la boca; ahora juntos pueden decidir hacer  algo que le guste.   Puede ser un niño, una niña, un profesor, un perro, un gato, un oso, un elefante. Lo que desee.   Esto le dará una excelente oportunidad para nombrar los ojos, naríz, oidos, boca al igual que sus funciones.  Usted puede cortar una lengua o dientes y pegarlas dentro del  doblez.

Vocabulario – Palabras:   Títere o marioneta, sentimientos  (tristeza, miedo, cólera, felicidad), Cara, Ojos, Oídos, Nariz, Boca, Lengua, Conversación, Sentidos (Vista, Olor, Gusto, Auditiva (oir), Tocar.

Destrezas/estilos de aprendizaje/inteligencias:   Desarollo del lenguaje verbal, motricidad fina, Social/emocional.
