Decorate/Recycle

                      

Background:    Plastic bottles are thrown away, wasting landfill space and other resources.   Reuse and recycle are two ways we can all help solve this problem.

Objective :  To enjoy together the decorating and use of an item that would otherwise have been burden to the landfill.

Materials Needed:  A “throw away” plastic bottle, empty and clean; tissue paper is assorted colors; white glue, fingers and/or small artist’s

Process:    Young student tears tissue paper into small pieces.   Together family member and young student spread glue and apply the bits of tissue to the bottle.  Any pattern formed is beautiful.  Overlapping produces especially lovely results.  Allow to dry.

Skills/Learning Styles/Intelligences: fine motor control (tearing); visual discrimination (colors); social development (saving landfill, reusing), art (forming beautiful pattern).

Extended Learning:   Decide how the bottle will be used.  As a decoration? As a vase for flowers to give to someone we love?  As a get well gift to someone who is hurting? Make more!  Decorate a box in a simlar collage-type pattern. Think of other ways empty discards can be used. Be sure to bring the decorated bottle to school.  We want to see all the different patterns and colors!

Decore/Recycle

Historía: Botellas de plastico estan siendo tiradas, malgastando espacio de terrenos y otros recursos.   Reusar y recyclar son dos formas en las que podemos ayudara resolver este problema.

Objetivo:    Para disfrutar juntos en la decoracion y el use de un articulo que va a hacer una carga para el basurero.

Materiales que necesita:  “Tirar” botellas plasticas, vacias y limpias: papel de seda en diferentes colores; Pega blanca, los dedos y/o un pequeño artista.

Proceso:  Los jovenes estudiantes ragaran el papel en pequeños pedasos. Juntos los miembros de las familias y sus jovenes estuadiantes cubriran la botella con pega y pegaran los pedazos de papel.  Culaquier modelo que se forme sera bonito interponiendo productos (papel) arrojara lindos resultados.  Dejelo que se seque.

Destrezas/estilos de aprendizaje/inteligencias:  Control motriz fino,(rasgar); discriminacion visual (colores);  desarrollo social (ahorrar espacio, reusar), arte (formar ejemplos bonitos).

Continuo aprendizaje: decidir para que  la botella va hacer utilizada.  Como una decoración? Como una vase para flores para darsela a alguien a quien amamos? Como un presente de mejoria a alguien que no se siente bien? Para hacer mas decore una caja en forma similar. Piense en otros articulos vacios que puedan ser usados. Asegurate de traer la botella decorada a la escuela.  Nosotros queremos ver todo los diferentes modelos.
