The club's primary purpose is to hold bimonthly lecture/discussion meetings from September through May or early June of each year. Prominent scholars, Nobel Laureates, eminent professors, medical doctors, lawyers, spies, engineers, artists, bankers, gourmets, deep sea divers, politicians, financial wizards and others who either have or have had interesting careers, are invited to speak. Meetings usually last about two hours and always includes time for attendees to socialize before the talk and to ask questions afterwards. Meetings regularly draw over 150 people and many more when the speaker is very well known. Women are welcome at the lectures and on trips.
The duties of the organization are carried out by a corps of volunteers under the nominal guidance of Bob Robinson a retired chemical engineer. A planning group called "The Honchos" holds occasional meetings to find interesting speakers, appoint contact persons to invite the speakers, and arrange for the field trips. Other volunteers maintain the membership database, mail meeting notices, write and mail publicity releases, maintain our Web site and arrange for meeting sites and other activities. If you would like to help, please contact Bob Robinson, or call him at 609-683-1104
