Explore the paleontology of the 1800s through art and science! Paintings by the preeminent dinosaur artist Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins (1807-1894) are paired with fossils on loan from the New Jersey State Museum. The paintings, custom-made for Princeton University's Nassau Hall in the mid 1870s, depict different geological eras in dynamic landscapes. Archival materials include engravings and dinosaur models. Special focus will be given to New Jersey's state dinosaur the Hadrosaurus foulkii. Interactive components for children and a stunning display of fluorescent rocks from the Sterling Hill Mining Museum and Princeton University Geosciences make this an exhibition not to be missed!
Museum hours are Wednesdays - Fridays from 11-3pm. and 12-4pm Saturdays and Sundays. $4 for seniors and students and $5 adults.
