The American Culture and Language Institute at The Hun School offers English instruction five hours a day in a classroom setting taught by The Hun School’s experienced international faculty, July 1st to August 2nd. Students experience diverse cultural training, work on skills including communication and collaborating across cultures; learn basic vocabulary and important phrases in “common English”; read interesting books and materials that match their reading skill levels; practice writing short compositions about their experiences on and off-campus; practice listening and comprehension skills; and practice speaking, writing, reading and grammar. We offer three levels for the ESL student: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Students are tested on the first day to determine the appropriate level for placement. Prep for the TOEFL examination, and qualified A.C.L.I. students may take academic courses after testing. Age 13 to board.
